Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Map My Parks, including Map My Parks Pro, shared-map sync features, and related services. By using our app or services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be legally able to agree to these Terms.
- Shared-map access uses email code verification. You are responsible for activity under your account session.
- Keep your device and login access secure. Report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
2. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Map My Parks for lawful personal use.
3. Trip Logs, Shared Maps, and User Content
- You retain ownership of content you create in the app, including trip notes and photos.
- You grant Map My Parks a limited license to host, store, sync, process, and display that content only as needed to operate the service.
- If you use shared maps, your synced content may be visible to other members of that shared map.
- If a shared map owner deletes a shared map, shared-map records and associated shared photo objects are deleted from our shared-map backend systems, subject to operational retention and backup windows.
- You are responsible for the content you upload and share.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service in violation of any law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data.
- Interfere with service operation, rate limits, or security controls.
- Upload unlawful, infringing, abusive, or harmful content.
- Attempt to bypass upload validation, file-size limits, or other protective controls.
5. Map My Parks Pro and Billing
- Map My Parks Pro features are offered through in-app purchase mechanisms provided by Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Pricing, billing cycles, refunds, and subscription cancellations are governed by the applicable store provider terms and policies.
- We do not process raw card payment data directly in our app services.
6. Data Sources and Service Accuracy
- We ingest and normalize park-related data from official and partner sources (for example NPS, NOAA/NWS, USGS, Recreation.gov).
- Data may be delayed, incomplete, or changed by source providers.
- Map My Parks is a planning aid and does not guarantee real-time completeness or official status of third-party data.
7. Availability and Changes
- We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
- We may enforce technical limits (including upload size/type limits and retention windows) to maintain service security and reliability.
- We may update these Terms. Continued use after updates means you accept the updated Terms.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. You may stop using the app at any time and can remove shared-map access from app settings.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Map My Parks and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or use arising from use of the service.
